At the office of Dr. Frederick A. Heiselman, D.D.S., Inc., we are proud to offer state of the art technology combined with many, many hours of continuing dental education. Then we use the highest quality local dental laboratories to achieve the finest dentistry available.

DIAGNOdent
Among the newest technologies is a small laser instrument from Germany called the DIAGNOdent, which scans your teeth with harmless laser light searching for hidden decay.  Dr. Heiselman and Heidi, our dental hygienist will use the DIAGNOdent at every exam to locate hidden decay, and with treatment stop the spread of disease before it destroys the tooth from within.   This unique instrument provides instant feedback on the health of the tooth.  A pen like probe simply glides over the tooth surfaces constantly checking the health of the tooth.  A number scale and alarm signals the operator when there are signs of hidden decay.  This new technology is completely safe and pain free!

Magnification and lighting
Dr. Heiselman often works with 2.6x magnification and high powered lighting so he can see and remove all decay and fabricate precise and naturally detailed dental restorations for your mouth. The light also has an amber filter which allows the doctor to illuminate the cavity preparation for greatest visibility and working time to manipulate the retorative material (without curing it) until the restoration is perfect!

Digital Photography
We have all been amazed at the advances in digital photography, now, Dr. Heiselman brings this technology to the dental clinic.  When performing cosmetic dentistry, there is no better way to communicate with the dental laboratory than with digital photography. Dr Heiseman is currently using the 8.2 megapixel Canon Digital 20D, a 100 mm Macro lens, and a Canon ring flash.

Oraqix
Oraqix is a revolutionary new non-injection anesthetic for periodontal applications. The anesthetic is delivered to the treatment site without the use of a needle and anesthetizes the site within 30 seconds for a period of approximately 20 minutes, without residual numbness of lips and tongue. Now, your deep root planing and scaling appointments can be comfortable without a needle!
